Presentation Style

  You will be offered either an Oral or a Poster presentation, which will be determined by the meeting chairperson.

Ways of Presentation

  Oral presentation:
As a general rule, we ask that all presentations be given in person at the venue.
However, if it becomes difficult to make a presentation on-site due to factors such as the spread of COVID-19, we will inform you separately.
  Poster presentation:
As a general rule, we ask that all presentations be given in person at the venue.
However, if it becomes difficult to make a presentation on-site due to factors such as the spread of COVID-19, we will inform you separately. For presenters whose posters are accepted, there is a possibility that they will be asked to provide an on-demand presentation.
  * Data to be submitted by presenters for "on-demand presentation" is expected to be either "PPT data" or "data in which a PPT with recorded audio is converted to a video".

Submission Guidelines

  1. Application Requirements
The first author must be a member of the Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (JSPE), (annual membership fee paid for 2022) or be in the process of applying for membership at the time of application.
If you are not a member of the JSPE, please apply for membership at the secretariat of JSPE at the same time as applying for your presentation.
However, applicants from overseas, students (excluding graduate students) ,or post-graduate clinical residents (until the second year), are not required to be members of the Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology to submit as a first author.

If you have more than 21 authors, please submit online and send an email to the meeting secretariat of the 56th JSPE as follows.
    1) Please submit up to 19 authors on the abstract submission page.
    2) Enter the word "send attached file" in the co-author 20 entry.
    3) Please write your login ID, the names of 20 or after authors, the number of an institution, and whether or not he or she is a presenter in a word file and send it to the meeting secretariat of the 56th JSPE via email ( jspe56@gressco.jp ) by the deadline for abstract submission.
    4) Cannot be made after the deadline for abstract submission.

If you have more than 16 institutions, please register them as follows and send an e-mail to the meeting secretariat of the 56th JSPE as follows.
    1) Register up to 14 institutions on the abstract submission screen.
    2) Enter the word " send attached file " in the " 15 affiliated facilities" field.
    3) Please write your login ID, the names of the institutions after 15, and the names of authors affiliated with the corresponding institutions (if there are multiple institutions, please include the institution number and write it clearly) in a word file and send it to meeting secretariat of the 56th JSPE via email ( jspe56@gressco.jp ) by the deadline for abstract submission.

If you register more than the recommended maximum number of authors, institutions, etc., you may be asked to reduce the number of words in the abstract text.

  3. Ethical Considerations for Presentations at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Endocrinology
    Please refer to the PDF and check the following items regarding ethical considerations, when registering your abstract.
    This presentation corresponds to a subject that requires the approval by an ethical review board.
      Approved by an ethical review board.
      Obtain ethical review approval at least one month prior to presentation.
    This presentation does not corresponds to a subject that requires the approval by an ethical review board.
      Case report
      Others (research such as animal experiments that do not involve human subjects, research that uses only widely used cell lines, research that only analyzes papers and published databases, etc.)
  4. Disclosure of Potential Conflicts of Interest
    4-1) Significance of Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Having a conflict of interest is not in itself condemned.
However, if a researcher has a conflict of interest that is not declared or disclosed, the neutrality of the research results and social credibility of the researcher may be compromised, and this may be problematic. Please be sure to disclose accurate information when reporting conflicts of interest in accordance with the following rules.
    4-2) Rules of Conflict of Interest Disclosure
All authors, including co-authors, regardless of whether they are members or non-members, must report their financial relationships with "Business enterprises, for profit corporate organizations, and commercial entities related to medical research" as defined in Article 5 of the "Bylaws Concerning Conflict of Interest Policy in Medical Research of the Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (JSPE)" for the past three years starting from the date of abstract submission. Please check the "Article 5 and 6 of Bylaws Concerning Conflict of Interest Policy in Medical Research of the JSPE" below and select whether or not you have a conflict of interest on the abstract submission.
       
      · The meeting secretariat of the 56th JSPE will add the status of your COI to the end of your abstract depending on your selection of COI.
      · Please disclose the conflicts of interest of all first authors and co-presenters on the second slide of your presentation (after the title slide).
      · A sample slide form will be posted on this website at a later date.
  5. Three items to be selected at the time of abstract submission
    5-1) Applicants Category
    Choose one from the following options.
    1. Physician, Researcher
    2. Healthcare professionals(excluding Physician, Researcher)
    3. Student(excluding graduate students), Clinical resident (until the second year))
    * "3" is for students(excluding graduate students) and clinical residents (until the second year) at the time of presentation.
    5-2) Session Category
    Choose one from the following options.
    1. Basic Scientific Research
    2. Clinical Scientific Research
    3. Clinical Case Report
    5-3) Abstract Category
    Choose one from the following options.
There is a first choice (Required) and a second choice (Optional).
*Please note that your presentation could be in a different category from that of your choice.
    1. Pituitary, Growth
    2. Adrenal
    3. Gonads, Disorders/Differences of Sex Development, Puberty
    4. Glucose Metabolism, Diabetes, Hypoglycemia
    5. Obesity, Underweight, Nutrition, Lipid Metabolism
    6. Thyroid
    7. Bone Metabolism, Parathyroid, Skeletal Dysplasia
    8. Perinatal/Neonatal Endocrinology, CCS, Transition, Water and Electrolyte Balance, Endocrine Tumor, Others
  6. Best Presentation Award, Young Presenter Award
    6-1) Eligible abstracts and other conditions
      · Only unpublished abstracts or abstracts that have been published after September 1, 2022, are eligible.
Abstracts that have been published (including in press) before August 31, 2022, are not eligible.
      · Only members of the Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology are eligible for the award.
      · In case you are selected as the top 20 candidates, you have to submit proceedings(about 800 words or less).Please note that the submission period is scheduled to be from early July to the end of July.
      · All proceedings will be published in the abstract book.
      · Ten candidates will be selected from the top 20, and they are required to make a presentation in the meeting as a candidate for the award.
      * After the presentation, the award winners will be selected and presented at the general meeting.
      * Abstracts submitted for case reports will also be considered for selection.
    6-2) Conditions and number of recipients of the Best Presentation Award
      · The award will be presented to the first author of the best presentation during the fiscal year.
(In principle, one person, but up to two-person may be awarded.)
      · There are no restrictions on age, place of research, number of times the person has been awarded, etc.
    6-3) Conditions and number of recipients of the Young Presenter Award
      · The award will be presented to two authors who have made outstanding presentations as the first author on research conducted in Japan during the fiscal year. In principle, one winner will be selected from each of the basic and clinical categories, but up to two winners will be selected from either the basic or clinical categories, as long as they are appropriate for the award. A maximum of three people may be awarded.
      · Applicants must be under 40 years old as of April 1, 2023 (who was born after April 2, 1983, is eligible.)
      · Applicants have to fill in the birthday.
      · Each presenter can receive a maximum of two times.
  7. Abstract Format
As a general rule, the body of the abstract should be written with the following titles.

  8. The responsibility of correctness/ Modifications
    · Any corrections to your abstract will be made on your own responsibility.
    · Submitted abstracts will not be edited or proof-read before printing. The first/presenting authors are responsible for his/her abstract.
    · After submitting your presentation, please keep to printout of the confirmation screen for future reference.
    · After the submission period, change of abstract and addition and/or change of authors cannot be made. Please make sure all authors are entered.
  9. Notification of submission and Review
    · After the abstract submission is complete, you will automatically receive a notification at the e-mail address you entered. Please be sure to confirm your submission by using your login ID and password on the modification page.
    · If you do not receive a notification, the e-mail address you submitted may have been incorrectly written.
    · If you do not receive a notification, please contact the Meeting secretariat of the 56th JSPE ( jspe56@gressco.jp ), as your abstract has may not be able to submit your abstract.
    · Notification of acceptance or rejection of abstracts will be sent in early August.
    · The acceptance or rejection of abstracts and the date and time of presentation should be decided by the meeting chairperson.
    · It is the applicant's responsibility to provide a usable e-mail address of the first author. (please do not use a smartphone or mobile phone address.
  10. Password and login ID
    · You need to decide your password when you submit your abstract. Decide on a password with 4 to 12 characters.
    · A login ID will be issued automatically when the abstract submission is completed. By entering your login ID and password, you will be able to check, modify, or correct your abstract as many times as you like during the abstract submission period. We recommend that you write down your login ID and password or print out the confirmation screen and save it. This is also required when inquiring about the acceptance or rejection of abstracts.
